Race Series

wallpaper3

Each season we run 12 regular series races on Saturdays divided between a Spring Series and a Summer Series.

The Spring and Summer series races will start at 12:30 PM. Skippers meeting for all series races will be held at Indian Peaks Marina (formerly Grand Elk Marina,) at 11:00AM, usually on “D” dock. Weather permitting, the first race will start right around 12:30PM. Scoring will be with one throw-out race for both the spring and summer series.

RACE FEES
The normal entry fee has been $10.00 per day. Remit to the club treasurer (currently Terry Pratt.)

We will be using the starting sequence as described in the 2009-2012 US Sailing racing rule book:

FLAG AND HORN STARTING SEQUENCE

Sound the Alert for Racers 6 minutes before start 3 short horn blasts
1 minute later(begin the sequence) WARNING: 5 minutes before start 1 short horn blast and raise race committee flag
1 minute later PREP: 4 minutes before start 1 short horn blast and code flag P (PREP) goes up
4 minutes later 1 minute before start 1 short horn blast and PREP flag goes down
1 minute later START 1 short horn blast and race committee flag removed

After all boats have crossed start line the Race Committee Flag will be posted for the finish line.
